Ferrari missed the podium at Monza, Leclerc bitter: "It hurts, we're missing the car."

MONZA - " It was difficult in the first laps. I tried to follow some cars that were going faster, when you do that the car goes all over the place. It was a rally race for the first 5-6 laps , then I had to recover the rear tires for 10 laps and that cost us quite a bit of time. But I have no regrets, in the end I tried. I'm just sorry that, on such a special weekend and with the support we have, I would have been happy if we had done more, but we didn't manage it. It hurts , we've been waiting for our moment for a while. I'm trying and we'll try until the end to make sure it comes. Now there's Baku, it's a track I really like. I believe in it, but the car's pace shows in the race and right now, unfortunately, we don't have it . Let's hope it arrives soon so we can fight consistently for the win ." Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc said this to Sky Sport microphones at the end of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix .
" There was a good fight at the start, we were competing with Piastri at the beginning . We probably wore out the tyres a lot in the first ten laps and we suffered a bit in the next ten. Then the pace came back and we managed to extend the stint. The track improved a lot during the race , the tyre degradation was almost zero. The margin was just a few hundredths. Tomorrow we will examine everything and see if we could have done anything better. Compared to McLaren, it was one of the best weekends for us . There is an incredible atmosphere here, only by coming to Monza can you understand the passion of the fans ." Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur said this to the same microphones.
Hamilton's words" I'm very happy with the progress we're making. We've had two very good weekends in terms of overall performance, and I understand this car more and more. I don't know if I'll ever be 100% comfortable, but I hope next year's car will allow me to contribute more right from the start of the weekend. Without the penalties today, I could have done much more. Today was fun, and the energy from the fans was electrifying. Driving here for Ferrari is something I'll always carry in my heart ," concluded fellow Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton.
